Saturday’s Daily

Your character wakes up and doesn’t know where they are or how they got there.

I chose this scenario because there are so many directions you could go with it. I wanted to see how many versions the same situation could bring about. I say it all the time, but its amazing how different each person’s mind works. Some might go thriller, some might turn it into a comedy of errors, some might even swing a romance. The rest is up to you….

Saturday’s Daily

An accident shatters the protagonists life but at the same time brings a new friend/love (nurse, doctor, witness, counselor, lawyer, etc.) into it. Sometimes, the worst thing that can happen to you is the best thing that can happen for you. For every door that closes, another one opens. This week I want to know what’s behind your protagonists door….

Saturday’s Daily

Is it Saturday already? … my, how time flies. I’ve been watching Helix on Netflix. Funny how I never gave it a chance before seeing as it’s right up my alley as far as genre goes. Viruses, immortality, end of the world shit…. Yep, all the good stuff. Which brings me to this weeks scenario. It’s a little on the dark side….

You (or your character) have been captured. But so have two people very close to you. Whoever those people are is up to you ( son & daughter, lover & friend, mother & father, even complete strangers ) the combinations are endless. Whoever has you captured is playing a sick & twisted game. Behind Door #1 is the first person. Behind Door #2 is the second person. You (or your character) has to make a choice. The fate of the two people is in their hands…. they must choose who lives and who dies. The situation and events are entirely up to you. Make a choice out of love, make it out of revenge or don’t make a choice at all.

Use this as a chance to open up the darkness inside or make it a lighter fluffier version. Only you can know where your imagination will take you.

Daily Prompt 18: Super Sculpture

I have had a headache for days now. Not your normal just a little throbbing action, either. I mean like full blown make-me-wanna-throw-up blinding pain. I actually contemplated cutting my head off from the neck up. But then I realized it’d be awfully hard to watch Lost Girl without a head. So I come to you, through all the agony with today’s scenario prompt.

One night an artist creates a sculpture. Doesn’t know why, but he/she becomes obsessed with finishing it and pours all his/her heart and soul into it. POOF! The next morning they wake up and it’s gone. They report it missing but then shortly after a man/woman shows up in their life that looks oddly familiar. Maybe its the cop that shows up to take their statement? Or a random stranger who shows up on their doorstep? However it happened, they realize that it’s their sculpture come to life.

How about them apples?…..

Daily Prompt 12: Saturday

A day late and a dollar short, I know. I have been really bad this week at posting my prompts on the right days, but let’s face it, it’s not like I’ve got thousands of responses knocking down the doors anyway! So I’ll put up two in a row. Besides, Sunday’s are really more of a free day since it’s meant for you to send me your ideas.

I’ve spent the morning getting caught up on Rookie Blue, one of many in the line up of TV shows that I must watch and it gave me more than one scenario that came to mind. So I will double your pleasure and give you TWO to choose from today kiddos!

SCENARIO A: You’ve recently started dating someone. They are cooky and wild and you guys fought like cats & dogs at first sight, but then the fighting turned into smooching and now they are the best thing that’s happened to you in a long time. They’ve broken you out of your ‘normal’ shell and every day you wake up wondering what’s going to happen next. Then a big bad happens. They’ve gotten into an accident and are rushed to the ER. As you sit, plastered to the waiting room chair, someone else comes in ranting and raving and looking for your special someone. Come to find out, the new guy/girl is still your someone’s emergency contact. Why? you ask…. because they are married to them. It wasn’t a big fancy schmancy wedding, more of a drunken night with Elvis in tow. However, the new guy/girl, realizes from this near death experience that they never should’ve let your special someone go and is now wondering if this is there ‘second chance’ to make it right. You stand there stupefied. Married??

SCENARIO B: Police officers have just been called out to a 911 call in the park. Whenever they arrive they see that it was made to look like a person out of clothes and a hoody stuffed with a trash bag for a head, etc. They call it in as a prank but just then gunshots ring out as someone begins shooting at them. Was it random? Was your MC the main target. Is your MC one of the cops and we see everything from their perspective? Or was your MC an innocent bystander who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?

So let your creative energies start to flow and maybe you’ll write the next great novel of our decade. Or maybe you won’t. But you’ll never know if you don’t try! ….

Daily Prompt 05: Saturday

It’s Saturday. Sigh. Heavy sigh.  So far no pingbacks on any previous writing prompts. That makes me sad.  Well, hopefully this will give your creativity a burst of energy.  I’ll make it short and sweet this week:

Your MC wakes up in the morning and absolutely no one remembers him/her.

Talk about an ego bruiser.  Now pick up that pen, or if typing is your cup o’ tea, then get on that keyboard and tap away! Don’t forget to pingback and tag your category RMMW Saturday.
