Daily Prompt 12: Saturday

A day late and a dollar short, I know. I have been really bad this week at posting my prompts on the right days, but let’s face it, it’s not like I’ve got thousands of responses knocking down the doors anyway! So I’ll put up two in a row. Besides, Sunday’s are really more of a free day since it’s meant for you to send me your ideas.

I’ve spent the morning getting caught up on Rookie Blue, one of many in the line up of TV shows that I must watch and it gave me more than one scenario that came to mind. So I will double your pleasure and give you TWO to choose from today kiddos!

SCENARIO A: You’ve recently started dating someone. They are cooky and wild and you guys fought like cats & dogs at first sight, but then the fighting turned into smooching and now they are the best thing that’s happened to you in a long time. They’ve broken you out of your ‘normal’ shell and every day you wake up wondering what’s going to happen next. Then a big bad happens. They’ve gotten into an accident and are rushed to the ER. As you sit, plastered to the waiting room chair, someone else comes in ranting and raving and looking for your special someone. Come to find out, the new guy/girl is still your someone’s emergency contact. Why? you ask…. because they are married to them. It wasn’t a big fancy schmancy wedding, more of a drunken night with Elvis in tow. However, the new guy/girl, realizes from this near death experience that they never should’ve let your special someone go and is now wondering if this is there ‘second chance’ to make it right. You stand there stupefied. Married??

SCENARIO B: Police officers have just been called out to a 911 call in the park. Whenever they arrive they see that it was made to look like a person out of clothes and a hoody stuffed with a trash bag for a head, etc. They call it in as a prank but just then gunshots ring out as someone begins shooting at them. Was it random? Was your MC the main target. Is your MC one of the cops and we see everything from their perspective? Or was your MC an innocent bystander who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?

So let your creative energies start to flow and maybe you’ll write the next great novel of our decade. Or maybe you won’t. But you’ll never know if you don’t try! ….
