WRITING: car accident – written in high school

The red Toyota flew across the four way stop, colliding with an oncoming truck, its entire side caving in from the impact. The small car began spinning, only stopping as it smashed into a telephone pole, shattering the windshield and crushing the driver and passenger inside as the car folded in half. The driver in the truck got out and fell to the street, bleeding from a cut to his head. Passers by stopped their cars and got out, some helping the man from the truck, others rushing to see if there were any survivors in the small sedan. There weren’t. The smell of gasoline was heavy in the air and just as people started to retreat, there was an audible click and the car burst into flames. Policemen, fire trucks with their crew and ambulances showed up within minutes, yet nothing could be done for the flaming car or its inhabitants.
